Way off base

This week, despite all of the banter back and forth about "The List," and how asses are going to be kicked, I'm way off on training hours.

Like, not even close.

-- Monday, I just flat-out didn't ride. Didn't want to.
-- Tuesday was actually very good. I got 50 minutes of zone 4 work in (5x10 minutes) and then some core strength work.
-- Wednesday was form sprinting, which went pretty well, too.
-- Thursday ... nope. A scheduling snafu took away ride time.

And today, I'm getting a bike fit on the TT bike. It's scheduled as an easy day, so that'll be pretty much on target.

But I've missed five hours' worth of riding this week. I guess the bright side is that Tuesday's work was dead-on. I'm about a week or so behind last year's schedule according to the numbers.

It'll take a while before we see how those numbers stack up against everybody else, but I'm optimistic. What else would I be?

Meh, it's still January and I can guarantee you that others have had unscheduled off weeks too.

Like the new banner, by the way. Though, I imagine it's going to change once you get new jerseys?

yeah, the banner might change. Lucas made it after I whined yesterday about not having any good pictures. Of course, Lucas will be racing with me, so I still won't have any good pictures.

You still have saturday and sunday. Five hours missed off of a 20 hr week or a 10 hr week? Mike is right. Don't get caught up in " I missed a few workouts here and there so my season will be shot" attitude. That will lead to failure. Keep looking on the bright side and the big picture of why most of us are doing this: for long term health, good competition and fun

oh, I'm not worried by any means. I got what I view as the most important workouts in -- the strenuous TT intervals and the power work.

with all of the stuff that's happened in the past few months, perspective has been driven home several times.
